Saturday 15th March 2008: CARATINGA - A night of sensational traditional music and song from Brazil
A fabulous quartet bringing traditional Brazilian music to audiences across the
UK. Terrific music; terrific playing; terrific singing and terrific dancing
by you.
Think a Brazilian version of Cuba ’s Buena Vista Social Club and you’ve got the idea. Caratinga bring you Brazil ’s greatest gift to the world – Samba!
The image of bikini-clad dancers on giant carnivals is only part of that
great musical tradition. They bring with them classic songs of samba and
the great tunes of Choro (samba’s instrumental ‘twin’ style). It’s lively
with an irresistible rhythm and some beautiful melodies. The music is so
infectious that it's sure to have you dancing in no time.
