15th October 2005: Big Band Concert

Checkley welcomed back The Trent River Big Band under the baton of Bill, a popular Bandleader who leads his 20 piece group into all the popular songs of the 30's and 40's. Bill usually brings along a male and female vocalist to top off the talent of the music.

So many in the audience have demanded a chance to dance to some of the music, that the band agreed to this popular request on some of the songs. A small dance floor in front of the bandstand can be used by dancers when invited to dance by Bill.

It was an excellent evening for letting your hair down to some of the best live music around.

Betty and The Church Tower

Betty Jones climbed to the top of the Church tower during the Medieval Festival to raise funds for the Church repairs. ( More...)
